' The Taj ' a five star property in mumbai was caught in the terrorist attack.  Ratan Tata [chairman of Tata Group] did something that happily surprised everyone but that's what ' The Tata Group ' is.  Every hotel staff , every vendor [ Bhaji - pav , Vada - pav anything ] outside the hotel who were affected by the blast were offered compensation.  All loans and advances of staff members, irrespective of the amount - were waived off.  Damage to 'The Taj' was estimated at several thousands of Crores.  The education of children of affected people [46] to be taken up by Tata Group. Free medical facilities for survivors and dependents at Tata Hospitals for the rest of their lives.  Ratan Tata himself visited affected employee families and offered compensation to them [several Lakhs rupees].
